Save Our Schools Castro Valley

Every Thursday, beginning October 13, fifteen Castro Valley restaurants are offering to donate up to 20% of your bill to SOSCV! to support our school district! See more details about this program on the Thursday Dine Out page.

The second Tip$ for Education event will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. See more details about this program on the Tip$ for Education page.

On Saturday, October 1, SOSCV! presented its first Family Movie Night to benefit the schools in Castro Valley. 1/2 of all ticket sales went to SOSCV! This was a movie good for all ages.

SOSCV! was at the Valley Blues Festival on Saturday, September 17 from 12:00pm until 7:00pm. For the second year SOSCV! ran a MEXICAN FOOD BOOTH, sponsored by Don Jose's Mexican Restaurant in Castro Valley. All the profits from this booth went to SOSCV! to support the Castro Valley schools!

On Sunday, July 17, SOSCV! held a Sunday Brunch event at Genghix Asian Fusion restaurant in Castro Valley. They generously donated a portion of the receipts from the event to SOSCV! as part of their on-going support of the Castro Valley schools.

Objective: To have students from 4^th grade through 12^th grade submit persuasive essays on one or more of eight topics related to the current school budget cuts situation. Winning submissions will each be turned into letters published in the Castro Valley Forum from 2/16/11 through 3/23/11. The purpose is to convince the Castro Valley community to support the CVUSD financially (through SOSCV!) in order to prevent the various proposed budget cuts being considered by the district.
